This self portrait projection exhibit was based on the idea of influences; it is easy to lose one’s self identity. The video loop was a series of faces being interchanged and mixed together until they all dissolved at the end, showing the raw core.

Audra McDonald singing Maybe This Time. Her phrasing in the last verse, particularly the last two lines, can be used in a masterclass. I last heard this song sung by Liza Minnelli methinks, and before that Patti Lupone. Minnelli plays it wistful with raspy age, Lupone does hers rich in bitterness. Mcdonald appears to have gone for hysterical desperation.
